At Project Five Academy we are passionate about the professional development of people in the construction sector.
We transfer knowledge that is derived from management science and contextualised for construction sector professionals. Knowledge is shared through our suite of ILM accredited leadership and management qualifications which are centred around trending and disruptive topics and themes faced by the sector.
Our courses are delivered though online blended learning which includes a combination of a learner platform, recorded lectures, and live tutorials to help develop effective, confident and forward-thinking construction sector leaders. This flexible approach works for busy construction professionals!
All of our courses are designed and delivered by our expert tutor Tim Whitehill and have been developed through his extensive knowledge of the sector and its organisational practices.
The level of a qualification indicates its complexity, the depth of achievement required and/or the autonomy of that learner demonstrating that achievement.
ILM Level 3 qualifications are ideal for junior and first-line managers or individuals who have management responsibilities but no formal training and are serious about developing their abilities. It particularly supports practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management.
ILM Level 5 qualifications are ideal for project managers, department heads and middle managers. It supports those who want to develop their technical knowledge, strategic insight and practical expertise. It will help them improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.
If you are still unsure of which course or level would be right for you, get in touch with us. We are more than happy to discuss your current role and help you figure out the right path.
An Award or Certificate indicates the size of qualification, not its difficulty. Credit is awarded for completion of a unit and credits are then combined to make qualifications.
Awards are between 1-12 credits and Certificates between 13-36 credits.
An ILM Award is concise. It is the shortest course in terms of duration and covers a small selection of units in a modest amount of detail.
An ILM certificate is more a comprehensive course and will help you to develop a broader base of knowledge.
Credits are awarded for the successful completion of a unit. The amount of credits a unit is worth increases in line with the complexity of a unit.
Credits are also way of recognising and quantifying a level of learning. They are transferrable as they are mapped to particular set of learning outcomes. Credits can be combined to support any future learning on larger programmes of study or qualifications with other educational establishments.
You will be assessed for each unit that you undertake. The assessment will take the form of a written assignment and will be focused on your current experience, role or workplace (if possible).
Once you have selected the right course for you and made your booking, you will receive a welcome email which will detail the next steps of your learning journey.
At Project Five Academy we have combined the structure of traditional face-to-face learning in a more flexible online blended learning approach. You will be registered with a cohort of likeminded construction sector professionals and start your course on a set induction date.
Once inducted, your progress will be tracked through an online learner platform which will give you access to recorded lectures, exercises and online learning materials to help prepare you for each assignment. Your learning will be reinforced with dedicated live online tutorials throughout your study on each unit.
You will submit your assignment for a unit before details and materials of the next one are released to you.
Our approach to online blended learning allows you to fit your learning around your existing commitments but with the benefit of a structured period of study and support from live online tutorials with your expert tutor, Tim Whitehill.
Instead of attending a face-to-face lecture in a classroom, you will access all the learning materials and support online. You will need access to the internet and a computer, laptop or tablet to be able to complete your qualification.
Your learning journey will feature key milestones and assessment deadlines alongside the live tutorials. There is also plenty of self-study and guided learning time factored in for each unit.
If you are unable to make any of the live tutorials, don’t worry. We record all live sessions and uploaded these onto the learner platform so you can watch back in your own time!
All ILM qualifications are awarded by The City and Guilds of London Institute which was founded in 1878 and is incorporated by Royal Charter.
